Running to the rhythm of Bahia
"Batida do Manga" from Mainz moves with Afro-Brazilian drumming culture
Thick surdo drums get the pulse racing with powerful basses. Long timbal drums, played explosively, set the pace. Bright-sounding agogo bells paint rhythm patterns into the drum sound. The typical samba instruments from Bahia have black African roots, just like the inhabitants. Batida do Manga" transfers their Afro-Brazilian rhythms such as samba reggae, ijexá and baião from the streets of Salvador da Bahia to the asphalt of Frankfurt. The Mainz-based band, founded in 1995, is itself a cultural mix of musicians, percussionists and ethnologists from German, Brazilian and African families. A mixture that wants to move with "Suingue Forte", this rhythmic force that makes the body vibrate.

Pure brass music at the Frankfurt Marathon at Andreasplatz in Höchst
The Blasorchester Höchst of the Musikverein Unterliederbach will be providing the runners and spectators in Höchst with pure brass band music. Lively melodies from many countries around the world as well as the typical German "Dicke-Backen-Sound" will stimulate the runners' minds and bodies. The musicians will perform without technical support and thus have a wonderful connection to the mental and physical performance of the marathon participants.
About the orchestra:
The Blasorchester Höchst of the Musikverein Unterliederbach is the only band of its kind in the western districts of Frankfurt. The orchestra plays under professional direction at many festivities in and around Frankfurt am Main. Men and women from different regions and countries who are temporarily working in Frankfurt are also welcome to join in.
The 25-piece percussion band Bloco Baiano from Giessen and the surrounding area plays traditional and modern Afro-Brazilian street music, which originated in the north-east of Brazil, Salvador da Bahia. South American and African rhythms merge into energetic grooves. Surprising breaks and furious solos create a fascinating and intoxicating percussion firework display that sparks the audience to sway, move and dance along from the very first bars.
We have our instruments - djembe, bass drums, shekere and bells - with us, the power comes when we play and we groove together.
Let`s have fun with `Drum & Run`
"Are you tough enough to stroke the cactus"
The 1st German Briggemusik "Die Kaktusstreichler" was founded in 2015 with originally 11 members.
The term "Briggemusik" was created from the words "Guggemusik" and "Brassmusik" and also because we form the "bridge" between the musical styles.
March 1975 saw the conceptual birth of Musik- & Partyservice 2001, known then and still today as Disco - Team 2001 - Utopia.
The DISCO 2001-UTOPIA project was launched in Dreieich-Sprendlingen in the summer of 1976.
It took just under a year to build the entire facility and to this day the Disco Team 2001-Utopia plan, develop and build their facilities themselves.
The catchment area quickly expanded via Langen, Mörfelden and Rödermark to Frankfurt, Darmstadt and beyond the Bergstrasse. The "hobby" disco team had become a well-known and perfectly functioning team. In an expansion of the offer, the areas of responsibility were expanded: DISCO-PARTY, DISCO-UTOPIA and SOUND SYSTEMS were created and in the following years the areas of PARTY SERVICE, TECHNICAL SERVICE and CONSULTING were added.

Founded in 1956 - originally as a carnival club - the "Hoechster Schlossgarde" is a club that has shifted its focus away from carnival and towards music over the course of its history. In 1962, a fanfare band was formed, which changed its name in the early 1980s to a so-called "Drum & Bugle Corps". This corps, based on the American model, completed the pure music concept of dance and show interludes. It was the "Hoechster Schlossgarde" that was the first club to bring rhythm and beat from overseas to Germany. True to the motto "Nothing is as constant as change", the association has been facing the challenge of breaking new ground since the beginning of 2010. Anyone can join in, with or without previous musical training and experience. The Garde is also open to other artistic disciplines such as dance, drama and the like: The club's own premises offer the appropriate space for the realization of many possibilities. The "Gut Stubb" - as the club members affectionately call their clubhouse - can therefore not only be used for recreation or training purposes. The "Hoechster Schlossgarde" is all about "enjoying music together".

...is the top priority at KTC Bornheim. The 1st creative dance sports club has now been active in the sport of guard and show dancing for 25 years.
The club has made youth work its main task.
The KTC Bornheim e.V. has made a good name for itself in the region and in the sports scene thanks to its many tournament successes over the years, including Hesse, German and European championship titles.
The club is always present with its dance groups. The Jazz Revelation formation shone as a show act at the city of Frankfurt's major sports awards ceremony, the "Frankfurt Evening of Sport". The dance group visited the French twin city of Lyon on behalf of the city of Frankfurt and represented the city of Frankfurt in a television production for the Second German Television with a choreography specially rehearsed for this program. At the world's largest amateur dance tournament in standard and Latin dances, the major event of the Hessian Dance Sport Association "Hessen tanzt", the KTC athletes successfully demonstrated their skills as the flagship of the association and thus promoted dance sport.
The ultimate highlight awaits the approximately 7,000 spectators in the Festhalle. Several video screens will inform them about intermediate results and finishing times, and visitors will also be able to enjoy all the emotional images from the 42.195-kilometer course. In addition, the names of the "short-before-the-finish finishers" will be determined via a mat directly in front of Frankfurt's "Gud Stubb" and shown on the video screen. The Festhalle is one big running party on this day. All finishers are the acclaimed protagonists.

"KENKELIBA" is a tea in West Africa that gives people a feeling of well-being and energy throughout the day.
Joie de vivre, well-being, energy and fun - that's exactly what we offer on stage.
We, the African drumming group KENKELIBA, have been around since 2006. We are currently 13 musicians from the Schwalm-Eder district, Waldeck-Frankenberg and Marburg, who drum, play, sing and dance traditional West African rhythms with great joy and a personal "North Hessian touch".
We drum on traditional African instruments such as Djembé, Doundoun, Sangban, Kenkeni, Krin, Bougarabou and play small percussion such as Cajón, Bell, Agogo, Clave, Shekere, Shaker.
Maracatu is an Afro-Brazilian rhythm with singing and dancing, native to Pernambuco, Brazil. Since 2001, we have been to Olinda and Recife several times to study this music and take workshops. We are rooted here in Cologne, our children have grown up with this music and for years we have been able to familiarize and inspire audiences with this music.
Typical of this music is the alternating singing between the lead singers and the choir, which is familiar from African music. Beautiful old hymns are laid over the rhythm carpet and structure it. We also play Cologne tunes to the maracatu.
On our homepage you can find a lot more information about our cultural and social commitment, videos, pictures and music.
In 2012, we organized a concert and a large parade with almost 400 drummers and dancers in the Rheinauhafen, which the Cologne public was able to take part in as part of Summer Cologne.
The Musikverein 1913 Harheim e.V. is once again young and full of verve at this year's Frankfurt Marathon.
Despite its rather advanced age of almost 100 years, the Musikverein has remained surprisingly young to the eyes and ears!
The main reason for this is probably that it has always moved with the times and has continuously developed in order to live up to a certain standard, maintain this standard and achieve new goals time and again without ever forgetting its traditional roots.
Once again this year, the musicians want to cheer on all the runners with rhythmic and powerful music.
The Musikverein Dietesheim has been shaping cultural life in Mühlheim am Main for almost 120 years. Today, the association comprises a main orchestra of around 60 members as well as a large youth section, which is divided into three student orchestras and currently consists of 60 young music enthusiasts.
The large orchestra is the flagship of the association and the aim of the training. The orchestra's repertoire ranges from traditional brass band music for morning pints or parish festivals to concert music for the upper grades, such as operettas, musicals or symphonic brass band music, for spa concerts or the annual Christmas concert. With this repertoire, we want to give strength and support the runners on the last meters of the exhausting marathon.
The Musikzug of the Turngemeinde Bad Soden can look back on a long tradition. The roots of the department lie in the marching band founded in 1958 before the changeover to brass band music took place in 2008, transforming the marching band into the marching band.
Since then, we have played at various events in the region (including concerts, carnival parades, markets) and at celebrations and anniversaries. The section currently consists of twenty members with the following instrumentation: trumpet, flugelhorn, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, tenor horn, tuba and percussion.
Our repertoire is wide-ranging (marches, polkas, waltzes, hits, mood music and much more) and is constantly being expanded. The marching band is proud of its history and is looking forward to continuing it - with the addition of new players.
PercuBaMa is a percussion band that plays its own pieces with typical samba instruments, based on the traditional Afro-Samba from Bahia/Brazil. We take to the streets without any technical aids, start playing percussive rhythms with unbridled fun and will inspire you too. At home in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, we "rock" every running event, company party, street festival or private celebration - rock solid, honest, impressive.
When the drums are already booming from afar and the driving rhythm gets closer and closer, tough marathon kilometers become easy and exhilarating runs.
The drummers from Pica-Pau play for marathons together with their colleagues from Augsburg, Munich and Swabia under the formation "Uniao do Samba".
For many years, the percussionists have always been there to motivate the runners. Munich, Nuremberg, Luxembourg and many other locations are on the
annual playlist.
Ritmos do Samba - plays samba-batucada, samba-reggae and makes excursions into pop and rock rhythms.
The best samba percussion from Würzburg. We play samba reggae, samba funk, baião, congo and much more.
SAMBA LIBRE is a fun-loving percussion group with 10 enthusiastic drummers from the Rhine-Main region.
Known to many in the region for over 20 years as a "good mood band", the group's strength lies in creating a lively atmosphere in the audience after just a few bars.
SAMBA LIBRE plays on mobile samba instruments from Brazil. With a love of music and playing together, the group presents groovy rhythms from Africa, Brazil and Cuba as well as modern grooves and their own compositions.
Their performances are varied, colorful and spirited.
The fascination of Brazilian samba percussion has gripped the whole of Germany. There are countless samba percussion, dance and yodeling groups of various sizes and orientations in Germany, and one small but fine drum group is SambaNaNa* from the Marburg/Gießen area [Hessen].
Since 1991 we have been playing various styles such as Samba Funk, Sambaduro, Timblada, Maracatu (maracaTUmaracaTUmaraca...), SambaReggae, Batucada, Baiao, Timabalada, Afoxé (Congo/Ijexá), and various Afro rhythms (Kpanlogo, Yambeleke).
The line-up (as well as the preferred grooves) has changed several times during this time; this is unavoidable with groups of 10 - 20 musicians in studio cities. Apart from a few "fossils", we have a "new" face every two years (or 5 old and 15 new ones). At the moment there are about thirteen of us grooving with SambaFunk, Sambaduro, Sambareggae and Carabali.
Once again, the almost 20-strong "Sambanditos" from the Neckar-Odenwald district will be cheering on the runners of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon with their Brazilian rhythms. The drum-loving "bandits" not only motivate the participants from the roadside, but also get the numerous spectators along the route clapping and dancing along, in short - a passionate Latin American attitude to life! Find out more at www.sambanditos.de.
At the half marathon mark, Rene Marquardt, the supporterkeule, provides a boost for the second half!
The Woodstock Festival in the U.S.A. was the trigger for Tommy Scharf to make music. He was particularly taken with the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Joan Baez and Joe Cocker. Tommy Scharf taught himself to play the guitar.
In 1979, Tommy Scharf founded the band "Empire", later "Tucson Express", together with 3 musicians. After 2 years the band broke up.
From then on, Tommy Scharf continued to work on his music alone and improved his guitar playing, especially his flatpicking, and wrote songs.
In 1989, an organizer from Langen asked him to play at a country festival in his house.
That was the beginning of his second career as a musician! Tommy Scharf composed his own songs, one of which found a record publisher who put the song on CD in the stores. Radio and television appearances followed, as well as a number of performances abroad.
Two And A Box has been on the road since 1992 and was founded under the slogan "The oldest boy band in Hessen".
The line-up of drum computer, live bass & vocals, live guitar & vocals
has been dismissed by some as a crazy idea. This concept brought from 1995
100 to 120 gigs a year.
Whether in the living room or on a big stage - we rock every party.
We also use the Cubase Music Production System to keep our
back-up sound at the highest level.
