Mini-Marathon is mega

Who are the first runners over the finish line? Who gets to run before the professional athletes to the sounds of loud music in the bright spotlights over the red carpet in the Frankfurt Convention Center?  Right, the participants of the Schneider Electric Mini-Marathon.  After the start of the big running field of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon on the 29th of October, the big stage belongs to the future runners (kids) and this starts at 11 a.m.Even their start that takes place on the Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage and presents an illustrious view-with this is the Mini-Marathoni later in his or her running sport successfully steered in the right direction. 4.2 kilometers must be completed by the runs who were born in the years 2001 to 2009 – the age groups U12, U14, U16 and U18 will be ranked – and will be rewarded accordingly when they run in front of the huge crowd of spectators into the Frankfurt Convention Center.  Goosebumps pure!  Like Sascha Mueller (SSC Hanau-Rodenbach) one of the biggest running talents in the state of Hesse says, “The Mini-Marathon is mega!”.  The events are customized to club runners as well as hobby runners, for them fun is the most important aspect of the sport.  After their own finish, the kids can still get up close and personal, when the fastest elite runners reach the Frankfurt Convention Center shortly after 12.  The Schneider-Electric Mini-Marathon is not just a special experience for the single runners, but also for the school sports teams.  This is because the top 5 school teams will be rewarded with attractive prizes.  One school team that will be in the running for this, is the school Am Gluckenstein from the city of Bad Homburg.  25 girls and boys from this school with be taking part in this, accompanied by sports teacher Cornelia Horas, and will be there in Frankfurt on Sunday.  Sport is one of the 4 disciplines learned in the school Am Gluckenstein.  In the sports classes from the 5th to 10th grades they train 6 hours a week.  From Skiing tours in Southern Tirol to Beach volleyball, long jump and running on the track of the school – in Bad Homburg many things revolve around movement.  In the “summer sports week”, there are many sports fieldtrips with the introductions of for example triathlon or canoeing a big part of the program.  In the so-called “movement break”, can the 5th to 7th graders under direction for the sports instructor, go to the gym to let off a little steam.  A student who is fit, is the best qualification for a good result by the Schneider Electric Mini-Marathon.
