Frankfurt, a unique marathon party!

80 hotspots with around 2000 acts make the running classic to the biggest street festival/ from Samba-groups on the hr1-stage to single performance as entertainment, on the course everything is offered/ on the Mainzer Landstrasse together with the man with the hammer that sends you off and running

Start in at 10 am in front of the Trade Fair Tower:  Then starts the infinite wave of runners through the city and the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon with its 80 hotspots to make it the biggest city festival of the year.
The bass make the asphalt vibrate, the beats and the cheering of the spectators fuel the over 15,000 athletes over the high-speed goal in the convention center – the event program along the course leaves no one cold.  A total of 2000 helpers by the course festival with 20 clubs from Frankfurt, 10 moderators and 5 big screens are set in place for both the runners and the spectators.
Already at the first 1000 meters on the Platz der Republik is the radio partner a DJ and Hotspot ready, so that the participants can warm up quickly.

Further highlights don’t let your wait too long along the attractive course through the inner-city.  The course leads your 3 times over the most spectacular point, the Opernplatz (km 9, 37, 40), where the marathon partner Queerbeet is organizing a “climate and environmental mile” with partner Sachenaufrädern and Triodos Bank.  Here can the spectators be impressed from the quality of the products, also from other marathon sponsors (Mainova, BMW, Vodafone, Rosbacher) with many spectacular events in the framework of the program.  At the Opernplatz are the hr1-moderators and the hr1-DJ in their element.
At the Hauptwache (km 7, 39) there is up-to-date news from the course moderator Chantal Buschung, DJ Elias and a big screen with live-feed.  Here is all the ASB-donation door and the hospitality of the clubs of Frankfurt, as well as action stands from Mainova.

Further hotspots on the marathon course are the MyZeil hotspot on the way to the Escherheimer Tower, the Zillertal Tourist Truck at Rossmarkt, the Retro-Show by the Kalifornier Allee and Jim Quinn at the Kaiserplatz, the “Ten on tons” in the Börsenstrasse or Latin music from Rum acoustic on the Fressgasse.

In the city district of Sachsenhausen and Niederrad (km 14 – 18) there is the marathon party with Hahn music team, the cheerleader from “CheerForce Koblenz”, the Catholic Church St. Jakobus, the club of the Frauenhofschule, the carnivals club “Die Stichlinge” and the Sambagroup Bloco Baiano.
Further along the course towards Goldstein and Schwanheim (km 19 – 24) where the runners await oldies from “Two and a box”, 4 other Frankfurt clubs, brass musicians, block flute plays, and the solo entertainer with 25 years of marathon experience, Heinz Berg.  By the half marathon project awaits not only moderator Markus Bourcade and the VfL Goldstein, but a big screen with a live-feed from the race.

Over the Schwanheimer bridge (km 24,25) in direction city district Nied, the runners will be greeted with the music from the cappella band “NOIZEBOX”, powered by Theimer and Mager Veranstaltungstechnik and with music groups “Maracuta Colonia” and the Guggemusik “Level Lots”.
In the city district of Höchst (km 26 – 29), the ears of the runners can here the brass musicians in front of the Bolongaropalast with the Höchste Castle Guard and on the Andreasplatz with traditional music.  Also, on the “Achilles Heel” of the course (km 30 – 34) you’ll be running on a single soundwave.

The Mainzer Landstrasse in the middle of the city purposely has the responsibility of having 12 attractions (10 musical groups, 1 club and the hr1 marathon charts), so that the Man with the Hammer beats with the other beats together.

Even on the Europaalllee is many things happening: Samba with Bloco Baiano, Moderation from Jochen Heringhaus, oldies, rock and blues from Thommy Scharf and the support area from “WERUNDFRANKFURT”.
The ultimate highlight for the finishers and the 7000 spectators takes place in the convention center: with numerous big screens, the guests can follow and be informed about the interim and finishing times from the hr-TV on the video-wall.  In addition, there will be an extra timing mat direct in front of Frankfurt’s, “Gudd Stubb” with the name of the incoming runner played on the big screen.  The convention center in on this day a unique running party.

The moderation team of Kai Völker (hr1) and Frank Piontek are the motivators for all runners whether they’re running two and a half hours or six hours.
