#marathongirls – we want you!

Marathon is already for a while now, no longer a man dominated sport. The participation from women continues to rise every year, since Kathrin Switzer even though it was forbidden for women to take part in the marathon became 50 years ago the first women to finish the Boston marathon.  Before the 36th edition of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon on the 29th of October, we want to dedicate a complete #marathongirls-series.

We are interested in your stories about the running classic on Main.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a first timer or an experienced marathon runner, ambitious or a relaxed on the 42,195 km through Frankfurt; if the marathon renewed your look on life, chanced or sped it up, if you’re a training diligent person or if you’re brave enough to take on the kilometer challenge; if you have flexibility in your trainings times or if you are fitting time into your schedule between your job and your familiar duties – let us be a part of your motivation, an in Frankfurt at the start.

Send us a small text and a photo from yourself (in action/ before or after a run) at mail@frankfurt-marathon.com and answer the following questions:

  • Why is running a marathon at least one time in your life, something a woman should do?
  • What do you like about running and what makes it hard sometimes?
  • How does your special preparation look until the 29th of October and is there something especially feminine about it?

We want to present and introduce our #marathongirls on our homepage, via social media and in the program magazine on the marathon weekend.

We’re happy to hear your stories!
