Our regulars from the Marathon Club

Only the most loyal runners are invited to join the Marathon Club. The three ranking members Kalli Flach (6:04:47 hours), Peter Schmit (4:35:35) and Wolfgang Vogel (4:39:57) this year all finished their 34th from 35 Frankfurt Marathons. What an impressive feat! The 80 year old Horst Jendrasch follows close behind with 33 finishes in Frankfurt. He did stand at the starting line at all 35 marathons but this year didn’t make the cut-off. 32 and 30 finishes under their belt have Klaus Vogelmann (5:26:04) and Klaus Westphal (5:57:47). Among the female members Ruth Jäger (5:00:25) with 24 finishes is closing the gap to the ranking woman Sissi Antoni (26). Sissi still runs marathons everywhere and this year decided to be part of a relay team. The fastest Marathon Club member was Daniel Ghebreselasie in 2:46:33. 80 new members were welcomed this year. The club, which was founded in 2006, has now grown to a total of 530 members. Everybody who finished at least 10 Frankfurt Marathons since its inception in 1981 is eligible for membership which is free of any charges or fees and comes with a personal bib number the member can keep forever. Additionally all members receive a high quality polo shirt with their individual bib number as well as several more goodies and discounts on the race weekend. Members with 20 finishes have bronze status, with 25 silver and with 30 finishes gold status.
