Breakfast Run (5k) powered by interAir on Saturday
Seriously, the Breakfast Run lots of fun! Come and join German running legends Irina Mikitenko, Dieter Baumann and Herbert Steffny for an easy going 5k run on Saturday morning.
Breakfast Run powered by interAir: That’s the traditional opener for the marathon weekend in Frankfurt. Everyone is welcome, no registration necessary and it’s totally free. We like to take it easy and make this more about chatting and having fun than breaking new personal records (though, if you feel inclined we won’t stop you). The roads are already closed so we don’t have to worry about traffic on the 5k run. Everyone who turns up gets a huge soft pretzel and apple juice afterwards.
The Breakfast Run has a long tradition – new this year is only its sponsor. interAir is a marathon travel agency that is deeply rooted in the running community. They offer perfectly organized trips around the world and with them you can, for example, book travel arrangements to and registrations for all six races of the World Marathon Majors around the globe.
If you’ve ever wanted to chat with a German running legend, then you’re in luck. Irina Mikitenko, Herbert Steffny and Dieter Baumann are three of the best long distance runners this country has ever had. They are not only there for show, feel free to talk to them. They are actually quite nice.
And did we mention that the first 1000! runners will get a free medal? There you go. It all starts at 10am at the Messe Frankfurt, City entrance, the finish line is just around the corner.
